The symposium will bring together project partners from the Netherlands, the UK, Finland, Sweden, and Spain, alongside Dutch LTH industry stakeholders, as well as colleagues and students with an interest in the project’s themes. Across two days, participants will collaboratively explore pathways for building more resilient and just LTH ecosystems in Europe.

This event - the first in a series of four - is designed to lay theoretical foundations and strengthen partnerships that will support future individual and collaborative EU grant applications. It also marks the launch of the Resilient Tourism Ecosystems Lab (RTEL), an initiative that provides a platform for sustained international dialogue in addressing urgent societal challenges across Europe.

In the context of growing global issues, resilience in LTH is no longer optional; it is essential. For this reason, this symposium reflects RTIS’s commitment to advancing research into societal impacts of tourism, facilitating knowledge-sharing, and co-designing meaningful interventions in this field.
