Our second-year tourism management students worked together with journalism students from Hogeschool Utrecht on the topic of the potential of tourism as a force for good in Cyprus. It was a fun encounter between students from different fields and universities of applied sciences.

Our second-year tourism management students worked together with journalism students from Hogeschool Utrecht on the topic of the potential of tourism as a force for good in Cyprus.

Danique, Tim and Mees talked to Elyze and Charlotte in an interview about the Field to Fork project hosted by the TUI Care Foundation.

"The TUI Field to Fork Cyprus project responds to the urgent need to adopt more sustainable agricultural practices in Cyprus, harnessing the power of the hospitality sector."

Our students are investigating the opportunities for the Cyprus Environment Foundation to join the TUI Care Foundation. If that succeeds, then the next step would be to include an excursion such as a visit to the regenerative organic olive grove and cooking workshop in the TUI booking systems. They are looking into how the tourism industry can play a role in the promotion of more sustainable farming practices in Cyprus. The students from Hogeschool Utrecht investigate the trends and impacts that tourism has on societies reliant on tourism.

TUI Care Foundation
Building on the potential of tourism as a force for good, the TUI Care Foundation supports and initiates projects which create new opportunities and contribute to thriving communities in tourism destinations all over the world. Connecting holidaymakers to good causes, it supports education and training opportunities for young people; drives the protection of natural habitats and the marine environment; and helps local communities to thrive sustainably and benefit from tourism.
