11/12/2024 - 11:44

The 3rd year students of the Attractions & Theme Parks Management (ATPM) specialisation started with their module Digital Marketing & Communications.
In light of the current development in higher education in the Netherlands related to internationalisation the positioning of our English taught tracks at BUas, we wanted to highlight a very memorable moment.

International education and working with international industry partners are two important pillars of track ATPM. From the beginning in 2009 (then with the specialisation Theme Park Management) we could always count on Europa-Park as our main client for the marketing module.

We started at a kitchen table working on the first assignment focusing on social media, and a strategy around Hyves. It also resulted in an advice to start with WiFi access points in the park. More importantly it helped to shift Europa-Park’s focus to online marketing and setting up a social media department. Since then a lot has changed and many projects have been conducted. Mainly to increase the brand awareness of Europa-Park in the Benelux, but also to focus on very market specific strategies. Over the years we have helped Europa-Park Benelux with campaigns to promote the camp resort, sustainable travel by train, short stay holiday packages and social media actions. The partnership with Europa-Park extended to the minor Design & Strategies for Future Entertainment and the company became a permanent project client.

This year the specialisation ATPM celebrates its 10th year anniversary, but our partnership actually goes back 15 years! A moment to celebrate it in Europa-Park style.
As a big thank you to Henk Groenen (Europa-Park Benelux) we handed out a very special award: that of International Education Partner of ATPM. We are thankful for all the beautiful learning moments and opportunities offered to our BUas students over the years. And we are looking forward to more international projects in the years to come!
